What to Expect

Scheduling the First Appointment
When you call to schedule an appointment, some preliminary information will be needed including your name, a brief description of the problem, and times available to meet. If you want to bill your insurance, you will need to provide that information as well. An appointment will be made for an Intake Evaluation.

Intake Evaluation (50 minutes)
Please arrive 10 minutes early to your scheduled appointment.  Download the forms here and bring along your insurance card.   (Please call your insurance prior to your appointment and ask what your copayment is for outpatient behavioral health services.)  If you are unable to print the forms, they will be available in paper form.  Have a seat in the reception area and I will come and get you at our scheduled time.   I’ll review the information you provided on the forms and answer your questions about the therapy process.  We’ll identify the goals you want to achieve together and develop a treatment plan to meet those goals.

Individual/Couples Therapy Appointment (50 minutes)
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled meeting time.  Have a seat in the reception area and I will come and get you at our scheduled time.   During the session, we will explore the obstacles you are facing and develop strategies to meet your goals.  We will also increase and fine tune your coping skills so that you feel better equipped to deal with future obstacles.

Cancellations
If your appointment needs to be rescheduled, please give me as much notice as possible (preferably 24 hours).  I will do the same.  Missing an appointment without proper notice will incur a $25 NO SHOW FEE.  If several cancellations or NO SHOWS occur, you will be charged the full session fee (not covered by insurance).
